Beau Bennett arrived on the Falmouth scene in 2021 as a student at Falmouth University. She began performing at Open Mic Nights across town and opened the first-ever WanderFal festival at The Chintz Bar after releasing her only single as a solo artist Breaking Ground.
Even then you could tell her music had something special about it, safe and comforting yet also punchy and raw at the same time. It’s been a joy to watch Beau’s musical confidence grow and grow as she takes London by storm along with fellow Falmouth alumnus Caitlin Pinkess.
Rose Tinted Glasses was written during a huge period of change for the band reflecting on the end of Beau’s time studying in Cornwall. It’s nostalgia, bottled.
Simple but atmospheric instrumentation from Ben Hope (Guitar), Elliot Iddon (Keys) and Jack Simpson (Drums) help create a rousing emotional crescendo that accompanies Beau’s storytelling.
On social media Beau described Rose Tinted Glasses as ‘The most vulnerable song I’ve ever written’ and you can really feel that as a listener. The track oozes emotion and cuts through and does what every good song should — make you feel something.
After a busy run of gigs in London and the South West including festival appearances at Tunes in the Dunes and Black Deer Festival, The Beau Bennett Collective are about to head to the biggest event in the South West music calendar… Boardmasters!
Beau’s three-year journey from open mic to a major festival is the ultimate inspiration for any new musician. Make sure to check out The Beau Bennett Collective on Saturday 10th August at The View stage.
