Award-winning Devon band, 3 Days of Wonder, are making an impact on the local music scene in many ways, including an invitation to Boardmasters by Daniel Pascoe from BBC Introducing. Now they are planning to give back to the community that supports them by creating a fundraising event for the Music Venue Trust to benefit grassroots music venues in the UK.
Lead singer, Luke Notman, says, “We believe that grassroots music venues are an essential part of our cultural backdrop. They provide us with the training ground to go onto the next stage. We need to be shouting out about these venues and for us that means giving our time and energy to put on a fundraiser.”
The Music Venue Trust was founded in 2014, providing recognition and support for grassroots music venues across the UK, including Hull Adelphi, Exeter Cavern, The 100 Club and the Barrel House Ballroom, Totnes. The Trustees are professionals who are passionate about the social, cultural and economic value of these vital venues and their essential role in the development of British music.
The Barrel House Ballroom, who have benefited from investment from the Music Venue Trust, are hosting the event, alongside 3 Days of Wonder, on Friday 1st May, recognising the importance of supporting emerging musicians and raising funds for this vital organisation.
Devon bands Wild Oceans, Vanity Project, Rat Trap and solo artist Amelie Trimeman will be joining the boys from 3 Days of Wonder.
Local promoters, Involving Music, Sonar Presents and Sound Factory SW will be championing this evening – a party that celebrates the joy of live music in one of Devon’s best-loved grassroots music venues.
Tickets for the Barrel House MVT Fundraiser on 1st May at The Barrel House Ballroom in Totnes are available now!
